~playing in the ravine

September 7, 2010

So last week when I hung out with some sweet friends and their kids to take their family photos, I made a startling realization. I have known this Dad for 25 years!  (longer than I have known my own brother) It was so great to see him with his kids and remember being friends at just about his daughter’s age now! Puts it into perspective, that’s for sure. We had a lot of fun playing, and getting muddy in the ravine. Here are a few favorites from our session!

And PS your kids are gorgeous!!!

It was so good to see you guys and have a fun morning together! Give those kids a snuggle from me!

The last time I photographed this family, the kids were still in school and no babies had been born for a long, long time. Well fast forward a few years and there are 2 new additions, a daughter-in-law and beautiful new grand-daughter (Her newborn session is here!) It was decided that the family needed to commemorate the fact that the women now outnumber the men! Even though it happened to be the smokiest of evenings, we had a lot of fun out. Enjoy some of my favorites…

There is a very funny story behind this ‘family’ photo…it isn’t mine to share, but I hope the image evokes some good presumptions!Fort Saskatchewan Photographer-003It is always a pleasure spending an evening with your family. Thanks for the laughs!

Yesterday I got to practice my french with a fantastic family (and wow, are those skills rusty!) I have known this Maman since we were very young, but haven’t seen her for about 8 years! It was lovely meeting her husband and beautiful kids, and spending some time with them down by the creek near their home. Another Short & Sweet session full of fun and laughter! A few of my favorites…

Their oldest daughter just loves the camera (and the camera loves her back!) She was all smiles, and full of questions, mostly about my lenses and gear. It was fun trying to remember how to answer her in french, and asking her to repeat herself slower. lol!Edmonton Family photographer-004

And the baby…oh she is SO cute! Watching her run around and trying to get her to pause for a second to photograph her was super fun! It is just like trying to get a photo of Grace right now…next to impossible!

Welcome to my new blog!!!

October 31, 2009

I am loving it! I hope that you do too. I love change, especially over the winter. Even though it is still technically fall (once the snow flies it is winter in my books!) You can still peruse my old blog for now, but I am not sure how long that will last.

I have a few ideas about how to make this winter tolerable. For any one who knows me, I usually love winter. Let me correct that. I used to love winter because it meant less work, more sleeping in and more time to do marketing, work on the website, have family time and a clean house. Well now I can officially say I dislike winter very much because the cold weather that slows down my shooting and gives a much needed break from the fall also makes leaving the house with a toddler an ordeal. And believe me, I need to get this girl out of the house every day. So I am scheming ways to tolerate winter. I will post about one of them very soon, but since I am not ready to ‘unveil’ it just yet, you will just have to wait ;)

You can use that handy dandy rss button up top to subscribe to my blog so that new posts will show up in your bookmark bar automatically. And become a fan on my facebook fanpage by using the little facebook button beside it. Thanks for stopping by. Come back often to visit!
